Common questions

Which direction is best for a toilet as per Vastu?

South-South-West (the zone of disposal) and West-North-West (the zone of letting go) are ideal. East-South-East, West and North-West are also good.

Where should a toilet never be built?

Never in the North-East, North-North-East or South-West — these are major Vastu defects. Also avoid the centre of the house (Brahmasthan).

Which way should the toilet seat face?

Place the WC so the person faces North or South while seated.

Can a toilet share a wall with the kitchen or pooja room?

No. A toilet should not share a wall with the kitchen or the pooja room, and its door should not face the main entrance or the kitchen.

Where should the exhaust fan or window be?

On the East or North wall of the toilet.
